A Chicago native, Stoioff graduated from Glenbrook North High School and went on to Loyola University in New Orleans, where he majored in finance as well as studied marketing and management. He graduated with a Bachelors of Business Administration and throughout his course of study he worked as an event and promotions coordinator for a local marketing company. These experiences were a basis of what was to come in his future career.
After graduation, Lucas returned to Chicago and continued his education at John Marshall Law School, where he specialized in small business and administrative law. During this time, Stoioff worked as a law clerk with the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office in the narcotics division and it was then that he began to explore the owner and operator side of the hospitality industry.
In 2003, Lucas took his previous experiences and created Hypewise Entertainment Marketing Group. The marketing and promotional company successfully organized some of the industry’s most innovative campaigns at some of Chicago’s most exclusive establishments. From this point in time, Lucas’ career in the hospitality world blossomed.
Three years later, in 2006, Stoioff and his partners opened Stone Lotus – Lounge. Restaurant. Liquor Spa. With hard work and dedication, the venue gained national recognition and in particular, was named one of the top ten nightclubs in the United States. After continued success with Stone Lotus, Stoioff and his partners realized it was time to create a hospitality development group in order to continue fueling new projects and concepts well into the future. Little did they know that together Rekhson and Stoioff would ultimately shape the Chicago hospitality world as we know it today.
In 2009, Stoioff and his partners opened Bull & Bear, which received both local and national recognition by being dubbed “Chicago’s Most Exclusive Luxury Sports Bar” as well as “Best Sports Bar in the Country” by Bar and Nightclub Magazine. Bull & Bear introduced the concept of “polished-casual” sports bar and set a new standard in the hospitality industry. In 2011 Bull & Bear made Bar and Nightclub Magazine’s Top 100 Highest Grossing Restaurants in the Nation. Seven years later, Bull & Bear still continues to be the neighborhood sports bar locals can rely on. Consistent food, service and lively atmosphere help set it apart from an ever competitive landscape.
The expertise of Stoioff and business partner, Rekhson, brought the company continued success with the launch of Public House in 2011. Public House has received critical acclaim and awards such as “Best New Bar” and “Best Burger” by CS Magazine. The gastropub is a local favorite to catch a sporting game, grab a bite or drink, or spend a night out on town. With over 100+ beers, the watering hole continues to be one of Chicago’s hottest.
It was during Public House’s initial years of business when Stoioff and Rekhson became friendly with one of their patrons, Top Chef Contestant and acclaimed chef, Fabio Viviani. After becoming friendly, the trio decided to go into business together and open up a high-end Italian restaurant. Soon after, the three of them hopped on a plane and traveled to Italy for inspiration to build what is now, Siena Tavern. Siena Tavern located in the River North area opened in February 2012 and continues to be a consistent, delicious and hot staple in Chicago’s emerging food scene.
Piggybacking on the success of Siena Tavern, Stoioff and Rekhson decided to raise the “steaks” and make a move into one of the hardest landscapes in Chicago: steakhouses. Situated on the border of River North and The Loop, in a nearly 100-year-old building, the 12,000 square-foot Prime & Provisions opened for business in May 2015. Prime & Provisions is approachable, yet stylish and appeals to the various facets of the Chicago patron – ranging from casual diners to business professionals and more. Since opening, the steakhouse has received accolades such as “2015’s Best Places to Dine in Chicago,” “One of the Places Everyone’s Talking About Dining At” and “Best Steakhouse” in the Chicago Reader Awards. Prime & Provisions is the first 100% All Natural Steakhouse in Chicago, a initiative both Stoioff and Rekhson feel both passionate and excited about spearheading.
Two months after Prime & Provisions opening, Stoioff and Rekhson’s seventh venue, Bar Siena, was born. Bar Siena is a two-story, bustling venue located in the heart of Restaurant Row in the booming West Loop area of Chicago. Bar Siena is the smaller, edgier, funkier sister to Siena Tavern. The inspiration for the venue stemmed from the duo’s trip to Italy with Fabio Viviani a few years back – the quaint, casual and energetic bar and restaurant called La Taverna in Siena, Italy. Bar Siena is closer to David and Luke’s original inspiration in size, style and energy. With a smaller sharing-style menu, pizza oven named “Bella” and delicious cocktails, Bar Siena has helmed accolades such as “Top Hottest Pizza Joint in Chicago,” “Chicago’s Best Pizza,” “The Trendiest Bar in the West Loop” and many more.
Proving hardwork and dedication pays off, Stoioff and Rekhson aren’t content stopping there. They continuously are striving to do bigger and better, while inspiring their hardworking team to do the same. The duo have plans to roll out an event space, The Builders BLDG, as well as an entire Catering sector of DineAmic Group, DineAmic Catering in early 2016. There is no surprise that a handful of new venues will follow.
